Amanda Ciafone’s research and teaching is at the nexus of history, cultural studies, and area studies. Her interests include cultural history and cultural studies of the United States in the world, especially Latin America; culture and media industries; global capitalism; theories of globalization; and social movements. She is currently at work on a book about The Coca-Cola Company and the politics, cultural representations, and social movements around the multinational corporation.
From 2013-2014 she will be on leave from the University of Illinois as a fellow of the John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
