Introduction to MCS
The goal of Media Career Services (MCS) is to teach students how to become effective job seekers and prepare them to be successful young professionals. Our role is not to "place" them, but to help them find their way to internships and full-time employment. MCS plans to do this using career/professional development events, career advising, Handshake @ Illinonis and other career/job search resources, and more…including the possibility of working with YOU!

Ways to be Involved
MCS is here to help you connect with students…no matter how much or little commitment you can offer. We love to meet with alumni to discuss what is going on in their company/industry, trends they are seeing, what their interest is in connecting with students, and to hear about their exciting journeys since graduating from Illinois.

Some alumni are interested in students for internships and full-time employment, others may serve as mentors, while others may be interested in offering experiential learning opportunities such as job shadows, immersion trips or career development workshops…all of which are great ways to interact with students and make a difference in their professional development! And, if your time is limited to virtual interactions, you can always serve as an Alumni Spotlight as well as a #MCSDayInTheLife Resident Tweeter.

If you are interested in giving back to the College with your time, please fill out the MCS: Alumni Interested in Giving Back form noting your willingness to get involved and your areas of interest.
