A group of ten undergraduate journalism students will spend part of their 2016 spring break learning about career and internship opportunities in Washington, D.C. Over two days, the students will tour eight to ten media outlets in the nation’s capital and meet with U of I alumni in Washington.
The group has appointments to visit The Washington Post, Politico, NPR, Sirius XM, the Pentagon’s press and public relations office, ABC News Washington bureau and Capitol Hill press offices. Pending security approval, they may even get the chance to visit the White House.
A Daily Illini article by Journalism student Leah Pearlman was mentioned in Politico's Illinois Playbook on Tuesday, March 8. Illinois Playbook is billed as “Natasha Korecki’s must-read rundown of political news in the Land of Lincoln.” Korecki is a 1996 Journalism graduate of the College of Media at Illinois.
