The College of Media is pleased to announce that Dave Kissel, a 1985 journalism graduate, will be the alumni speaker at the College of Media Convocation ceremony on Sunday, May 13, 2018. He has built a distinguished career in marketing, advertising and sports for Fortune 500 clients by leading high-impact teams at world-class agencies and media companies.
"The Multimillion-Dollar Head Fake," the investigative series written by Media & Cinema Studies Professor Jay Rosenstein, has been selected for publication by the Investigative Journalism Education Consortium. The series, the result of three years of investigative research, takes a detailed look at the inner-workings of the finances of the U of I's athletic department. It's been published here.

“The Eye of Overtown,” an award winning short film by Assistant Professor of Journalism Charles “Stretch” Ledford, was screened at the "Lights, Camera, 305” film festival in Miami, Florida, on Nov. 9, 2017.
