Brittany Duff, an associate professor in the Charles H. Sandage Department of Advertising, was selected to become the inaugural Charles H. Sandage Scholar in Advertising Research.
The Charles H. Sandage Scholar in Advertising Research was established in 2021 through generous gifts to the advertising department to honor outstanding associate professors who are accomplished scholars in advertising, media, or communications research with the potential for continued achievement. A new scholar will be selected biannually to celebrate their achievements.
Duff’s current research focuses on attention-management through media and mediated workspaces. She will be working on a research program that extends media multitasking, a process closely linked to advertising message-processing and audience behavior, and to productivity in the technology-mediated work context.
“Her research topic is particularly relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic during which remote and virtual work became the new norm,” said Professor Mike Yao, head of the Sandage Department of Advertising.
