How to Create a Thriving Career as a Freelance Content Creator or Entrepreneur

Are you interested in working for yourself? Then please join the College of Media for a panel discussion with Illinois alumni who will share career advice and answer your questions about thriving as a freelancer or entrepreneurial content creator.

We are excited to have the following alumni panelists participating in this event:

Dani Jackson (BS, Advertising)—Award-winning filmmaker, producer, and vice president at Edelman, a global communications firm. Founder of The Cre8tors and host of the “Authentic 365” podcast.

Maisie Sparks (BS, Journalism)—Author and Editorial Director of The Sparks Group, a marketing communications firm. With over 30 years of experience her clients have included Allstate Insurance, T. Rowe Price, and Walgreens.

J.J. Harris (BA, Communications)—Filmmaker, photographer, and founder of Techboogie Media, a firm that utilizes film and photography to bring untold stories to the internet. Clients have included Facebook, Google, Yelp, and Black Girls Code.
