The University of Illinois has extended the suspension of study abroad through December 2021. This decision includes all program types (outbound and inbound exchange, direct enroll, provider programs, faculty-led, and study abroad by petition).The College of Media organizes several programs for students to travel domestically or abroad while earning course credit.

Domestic Travel Courses

Students have unique opportunities to enroll in courses that travel to U.S. destinations where they learn first-hand about culture, visit with industry leaders from top companies, experience an event, or conduct research. 

International Travel Courses

Travel internationally with faculty and staff for a short-term course to experience another culture and learn the importance of global media.   

Study Abroad Semester Exchanges

The College of Media offers semester exchange programs that are unique from the campuswide programs in that students can experience an affordable semester abroad while taking media elective courses taught in English.

Apply by September 15 to spend the spring semester abroad and by February 15 to spend the fall semester abroad.
