The results for the Fall 2016 administration of student ratings of instructors has been announced. Results are based on Instructor and Course Evaluation (ICES) questionnaire forms maintained by Measurement and Evaluation, Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning.

Holden weighs in on Trump, free press

Ben Holden

Ben Holden, teaching assistant professor in journalism, was recently quoted by and published an article on “Journal-isms”, the leading news column on diversity issues in the news media.

Holden was quoted in an article on the lack of inclusion in discussions of the free press. His featured post, “Trump’s Press Polemic Undermines More Than We Think,” can be found here.

The Daily Illini won first place for “General Excellence” and “Online News Website” at the Illinois College Press Association award ceremony in Chicago on Saturday, Feb. 18.

Three days in March

U of I logo

A group of U of I journalism students is headed to New York City over spring break in 2017 to visit about a dozen media outlets to learn about career and internship opportunities. The students will be meeting with influential media leaders at each stop and with U of I alumni who work at those outlets. The trip will be held March 22-24, 2017.
