Illinois Public Media celebrates Ebertfest 2016 with new companion documentary

In celebration of the 18th Annual Roger Ebert’s Film Festival, Illinois Public Media (WILL-AM-FM-TV) —in partnership with the College of Media at the University of Illinois—produced Ebertfest 2016: Center of the Universe. This thirty-minute companion documentary covers the life and legacy of Roger Ebert as well as the history of the festival. It also includes a short preview of Ebertfest 2016.

Ebertfest 2016: Center of the Universe premieres on WILL-TV Monday, April 4 at 9 p.m., with an encore presentation on WILL-TV Thursday, April 7 at 7:30 PM. Ebertfest 2016 takes place April 13-17 at the Virginia Theatre in Champaign, Illinois.

The film will also air on WEIU in Charleston on Friday, April 8 at 7 p.m.; on WTTW in Chicago on Sunday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m.; and on WTVP in Peoria on Friday, April 15 at 9:30 p.m., with an encore presentation on WTVP on Sunday, April 17 at 3:30 p.m.
