“The Fugitive,” starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, will open the 20th annual Roger Ebert Film Festival hosted by Chaz Ebert, coming April 18-22 to downtown Champaign.

Roger Ebert called the film “one of the best entertainments of the year” when it opened 25 years ago, and its director, Andrew Davis, will be a festival guest.

Lillian Barkley, a 2017 Dow Jones News Fund multiplatform editing intern at The New York Times, is the 14th Edward Trayes Scholar. She was selected by the professor who celebrated his 50th summer last year directing the training program at Temple University.

Illinois has selected 17 proposed projects to receive a total of more than $11 million with an aim to generate new sources of revenue.
