The 4th Annual Illinifest Student Film Festival will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Greg Hall Theater from 11am-8pm, admission is FREE to all. The 2018 festival received 130 submissions of short films.

Ben Holden, teaching assistant professor in the Department of Journalism, has received the Teaching Excellence Award from Illinois Student Government. The award is the highest honor that the student body has for educators at Illinois.

Bill Nack, legendary sports journalist and 1966 University of Illinois alumnus, died April 13 at his home in Washington, D.C., due to complications from cancer. He was 77 years old.

Nack is most known for his book-turned-film Secretariat about the 1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat.
