Samantha Koon joins the College of Media as a marketing and communications practitioner with experience in both the non-profit and higher education sectors. Prior to her appointment at Illinois, Samantha served as the director of marketing and member services for the International Society of Arboriculture. In this role, she provided strategic marketing advice and served as an internal and external consultant to assist staff and volunteers. Her role was to support informed decision making through analysis of available data, as well as the behaviors and attitudes of professional arborists from around the world.

She has also served as the director of communications for the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University, and as the marketing manager for the Center for Food and Agricultural Business at Purdue.

Throughout her career, Samantha has been active in several professional and volunteer organizations, including the American Society for Association Executives, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, the National Agri Marketing Association, and Psi Iota Xi.
