Meyerson wins Murrow Award

Charlie Meyerson, '77 JOURN, MS '78 JOURN, has won a 2016 national Edward R. Murrow Award for audio investigative reporting from the Radio Television Digital News Association. Meyerson, founding head of news for the app-based news startup Rivet Radio, led a team of his Rivet colleagues to report "Our Glass Desk Exploded. Yours Could, Too," which took the top honor in the Small Online News Organization competition. It's the latest of dozens of awards he's won in a broadcasting career that began in 1973 at Illini Media's WPGU-FM.

In September, he'll address the national "Excellence in Journalism" conference at New Orleans in a session for the next generations of multimedia journalists: "Audio: It Doesn't Have To Be Hard."
