Rosenstein source on subject of Native American mascots

Jay Rosenstein, professor of media and cinema studies, continues to be a source on the topic of American Indian mascots in sports.

His latest column for Huffington Post addresses the recent poll by the Washington Post on the feelings of Native Americans toward the Washington Redskins names and mascot.

Earlier in May, he was interviewed by “Outside the Lines” on the subject of Native American imagery in sports.

Rosenstein wrote and produced the 1997 documentary “In Whose Honor?” which takes a critical look at the practice of honoring Native Americans by using them as mascots in sports.
