Holley honored by IJEA
Lynn Holley, lecturer in journalism, was honored by the Illinois Journalism Education Association at its fall conference as the 2017 Friend of Scholastic Journalism. Holley has served as executive director of the conference for 14 years and has also served as an at-large board member of the organization.
Holley will retire at the end of the academic year. Ken Erdey, also a lecturer in journalism, will take over as organizer of the annual conference.
The keynote speaker for this year’s conference was Ash-har Quraishi, reporter for NBC 5 Chicago, former reporter for Al Jazeera America, and Islamabad Bureau Chief for CNN. Quarishi is a 1997 journalism graduate of the College of Media.
