Visit Us
IlliniFest
Join us at IlliniFest on Saturday, Oct. 18, for campus’ biggest open house of the year. This campuswide event is designed specifically to help our prospective students and their families get the most out of their visit to Illinois!
College of Media programming includes:
- 10–10:45 a.m.: College of Media Prospective Student Session (Room 213 Gregory Hall)
Join our Informational Session and Q&A to learn more about majoring in Advertising, CS+Advertising, Journalism, or Media & Cinema Studies, and getting involved with student media at Illinois. - 11–11:45 a.m.: College of Media Involvement Fair (2nd floor Gregory Hall)
Attend the College of Media Involvement Fair and learn about getting involved in student and community media organizations when you get to campus. - 1–1:45 p.m.: Richard & Leslie Frank Newsroom at Richmond Studio Tours (Richmond Studio)
Cap off your time with the College of Media with a tour of our student TV studio. Learn about the different student broadcasts offered including Good Morning Illini, En Vivo, and Illini Sports Night.
Media In-Person and Virtual Visits
We invite you to learn more about the College of Media during an in-person presentation and Q&A session in Gregory Hall. During your time with Media, you will learn about our four majors and ways to get involved with student media at Illinois. Visit the Undergraduate Admissions website to view dates and times to sign up for one of our prospective student sessions. Please note that a tour is not included during College of Media sessions.
If you cannot visit campus, you can attend a virtual session with Media. Our virtual presentations are offered throughout the year. Dates, times, and the option to register for our virtual sessions are available on the Undergraduate Admissions website.
Campus In-Person Tours
The Undergraduate Admissions Office offers daily presentations and campus tours. We recommend attending both the presentation session and a walking tour of campus. You’ll need to register for this separately on the Undergraduate Admissions website.

University Housing Residence Halls Tour
University Housing offers daily tours of undergraduate residence halls. If you are interested in touring the different residence halls, please visit University Housing for more information.

Experiential Learning Opportunities
We encourage our students to gain valuable professional hands-on and life experiences inside and outside of the classroom. The College of Media provides several centers, labs, and initiatives to assist students in reaching their goals. Students are offered a variety of experiential learning opportunities throughout the semester through the following centers and offices.
These services offer opportunities for students to connect with seasoned professionals, alumni, and experts within the industry, ultimately preparing students for the next stage in their career path.
