Fishman named one of the best radio program directors
Matt Fishman (BS '93, broadcast journalism) was recently named one of the top 50 program directors in the country by Radio Ink magazine. He works at WKNR and WWGK in Cleveland, Ohio, part of Good Karma Brands. He has spent 27 years working in radio, with 11 years as program director.
"First off, you need to have a great team—on and off the air," Fishman said. "Without the right people, you could have the best ideas, formatics, imaging, slogans, etc., and you wouldn't be successful. Additionally, your company needs to be committed to content. I'm lucky at Good Karma Brands to have a company committed to supporting great content. Now that you have the right people and the support of your company, it's time to drill down. Take great ideas and follow through and deliver for fans, teammates, and advertising partners.
