Alum Jon Morgan, 40-year journalism veteran, pursues new writing career

Jon Morgan (BS ’84, journalism), a two-time author and journalist for 40 years, has left his position as senior editor in the Washington bureau at Bloomberg News after 13 years to pursue a freelance writing career.

Prior to joining Bloomberg in 2010, Morgan was senior editor at the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism. From 1987 to 2008 he held a number of reporting and editing positions at The Baltimore Sun, including assistant city editor, state political editor, and assistant managing editor of enterprise reporting. 

Morgan has written two books on sports economics. He also studied at the University of Michigan as a 2001 Knight-Wallace Fellow.
