Sucherman (BS ’86, journalism) discusses NPR/Edison Research on smart audio

NPR and Edison Research has issued its third annual Smart Audio Report tracking smart speaker user behavior and perceptions. The study of the 18+ smart speaker owners says that seven in 10 of the owners use their devices daily despite common concerns around security and privacy. “We continue to see those that have voice assistant devices love them, using them every day to get the news, listen to podcasts, live stream radio stations and more,” said Joel Sucherman, NPR Vice President, New Platform Partnerships. Sucherman is a journalism alumnus (BS '86) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
