Hammel receives award
Colleen Hammel has received the Member of the Year Award from The Secretariat. She is Office Administrator in the Advancement Office for the College.
The Member of the Year Award was created as a way to celebrate the contributions of Secretariat members – to honor a member that has contributed in a significant way to The Secretariat, the University of Illinois and/or the community.
Hammel was cited for volunteering at the Salvation Army Toy Shop at Christmastime; going above and beyond to ensure Susie Conrad had an ample number of speakers on her behalf as she accepted the prestigious Bess G. Matteson award from The Secretariat in November 2017; and singing alto with the University of Illinois Oratorio Society, St. Patrick’s Festival Choir, and her church choir. In addition, she served as co-chair of the Boss of the Year/Office Professional of the Year award committee for The Secretariat and on The Secretariat Executive Board.
Hammel was elected Recording Secretary for 2018-19 as the organization changes its name effective July 1, 2018 to Illinois Administrative Professionals, to more accurately depict its current membership.
Congratulations Colleen!
