Journalism grad receives Pulitzer Prize
Leonora LaPeter Anton ’86, of the Tampa Bay Times was awarded a 2016 Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting. The reporting was a joint project between the Times and the Herald-Tribune into Florida’s state-funded mental hospitals.
The Times received a second Pulitzer for local reporting on the Pinellas County Schools. Journalism grad Nathaniel Lash ’14, was a member of the team that worked on the project. Lash is a data reporter with the Times.

The Los Angeles Times Staff received the award for breaking news reporting of the San Bernardino terrorist attack. Much of the early coverage was facilitated through the use of custom liveblog software developed by Julie Westfall and Charley Bodkin. Westfall is a 2002 College of Media journalism graduate.
