"The Multimillion-Dollar Head Fake," the investigative series written by Media & Cinema Studies Professor Jay Rosenstein, has been selected for publication by the Investigative Journalism Education Consortium.  The series, the result of three years of investigative research, takes a detailed look at the inner-workings of the finances of the U of I's athletic department.  It's been published here. 

Jay Rosenstein, award-winning documentary producer and professor of media and cinema studies, has published a four-part series on the financing of athletics at the University of Illinois. Titled “The Multimillion-Dollar Head Fake,” the series is related to research he has been conducting for an upcoming documentary.
