Two journalism students place in Hearst Awards Program

University of Illinois seniors Peter Bailey-Wells and Michal Dwojak tied for 11th place in the sports writing category in the 57th annual William Randolph Hearst Foundation’s Journalism Awards Program.
Bailey-Wells also tied for 11th place in last year’s Hearst sports writing competition.
Students from 110 undergraduate journalism programs at universities across the nation are eligible to participate. Awards are presented in 14 competitions in college writing, photojournalism, radio broadcast, television broadcast, and multimedia.
Sports news, feature or commentary pieces were eligible for entry, but profiles of sports personalities were excluded.
