Media Career Services (MCS) is here to help alumni network and continue to connect with the College of Media and our students. We enjoy meeting with alumni to discuss career paths, professional industries, and current media trends. 

As an alum, you can network with our students by promoting internships and full-time employment opportunities, serving as a mentor, or by offering experiential learning opportunities such as job shadows, immersion trips, or career development workshops. All are great ways to continue to give back and connect with the College of Media and make a difference in student’s professional development.

Join the Alumni Association 

Alumni are encouraged to become a member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association. Members will gain access to several resources across campus including development workshops, access to electronic resources, and more. Specifically, members can take advantage of a one-hour career coaching session with a seasoned professional. Alumni can get assistance on various topics including building a resume, creating a LinkedIn profile, career/job search, etc. To learn more about other benefits of becoming a member, please visit Alumni Association. 

Handshake @ Illinois

You are still able to use Handshake as an alum to search for job opportunities, provided free by MCS. Upon graduation, your profile should be changed to read "Alumni" for school year. You will still be able to view job posts and upcoming career fairs, but you will not be able to apply for on-campus interviews or schedule appointments via the platform.
