Colleen Hammel has received the Member of the Year Award from The Secretariat. She is Office Administrator in the Advancement Office for the College.

The Member of the Year Award was created as a way to celebrate the contributions of Secretariat members – to honor a member that has contributed in a significant way to The Secretariat, the University of Illinois and/or the community.

CL Cole, head of the Department of Media and Cinema Studies, has received the Campus Award for Excellence in Faculty Leadership. 

The Office of the Provost sponsors the campus-level awards in recognition of excellence in faculty leadership for those faculty who distinguish themselves with their vision of the future and their effort to enable and promote others in shaping that future. Each of the four awardees received a $2,000 honorarium and a personalized commemorative plaque.

Two advertising students, Aparna Sivasankaran and Yixin Zou, have received the “Stevick Foundation Excellence in Media Research, Outstanding” award for their research project “Creating and Testing Virtual Reality (VR) for UIUC: Immersive Media & The Consumer” originally presented at the Undergraduate Research Symposium.

The Office of Undergraduate Research stated, “This award reflects the high quality of your research as well as your effective presentation."
