The Journal of Advertising, the premier journal of the American Academy of Advertising, is inviting submissions for a special edition on advertising and children. Submissions are due January 30, 2018.

The purpose of this special issue is to draw from across methodological and disciplinary perspectives to examine issues related to children through age 18. Submissions from across academic fields are encouraged.

Nelson invited key note speaker at European Advertising Academy ICORIA 2017 conference.

Advertising Professor Michelle Nelson was the invited keynote speaker at the 16th annual conference on Research in Advertising for the European Advertising Academy at Ghent University, Belgium on June 30, 2017.

Her talk was titled, "New Forms of Content: Research and Responsibility."

Nelson Takes over as President of the American Academy of Advertising

Associate Professor Michelle R. Nelson has been named president of the American Academy of Advertising. She began her term at the Annual Conference of the AAA in Boston on March 25, 2017. A longtime contributor to AAA, Nelson has also served as Vice President of the organization and as a member of the publications committee.

Study Finds Nelson Among Top 1% of Most Productive Advertising Researchers Globally

Charles H. Sandage Department of Advertising associate professor Michelle R. Nelson is among the top 1% most productive advertising scholars globally, according to a study appearing in the current issue of the International Journal of Advertising. Institute of Communications Research (ICR) alumnus Leonard Reid (Ph.D., 1978) also appears on the list.   

Advertising faculty and students participate in conference

Several advertising faculty and doctoral students in the College of Media will be presenting academic papers, leading the pre-conference sessions, serving as experts on panels, and moderating sessions at the American Academy of Advertising Annual Conference March 17 – 20.

Associate Professor Michelle Nelson is president elect of the organization.
