Ebert Symposium Series: Representation in Media

This fall, the College of Media presents the Ebert Symposium Series with virtual panel discussions. Join us online on Thursday, Nov. 5, for a discussion on Representation in Media, moderated by College of Media faculty members Angharad Valdivia, research professor of media and cinema studies, and Jason Chambers, associate professor of advertising. This panel will examine how television, film, and other media represent and portray certain types of people or communities. They will also discuss the importance of balanced representation, the need to challenge stereotypes, and show how the media industry has progressed to try to eliminate unconditional bias.
